Knitted Single Cross & Reverse Cross

What better way to Honor God then by Blessing others with a Prayer Cloth that you made with your own hands and Prayed over while making and then again beofre giving away. I'm pleased your enjoying this Prayer Cloth and Pray others are truly BLESSED by it.... {"JMSQ" 3/12/2006}


Materials:

Size 7 Knitting needles
Cast on 37 stitches.

1-4) Knit across

5.) k4, p29, k4

6.)(and all remaining even numbered rows) knit across

7-10) repeat rows 5 and 6

11 - 33) k4, p13, k3, p13, k4

35 - 39) k4, p8, k13, p8, k4

41 - 45) k4, p13, k3, p13, k4

47) k4, p29, k4

48) Knit across

49 - 50) rep rows 47 and 48

51 - 54) knit across

2 FINISHING OPTIONS:

#1 Knitting Only - Bind off, weave in ends

#2 Bind off loosly to last stitch, SWITCH to CROCHET hook, ch 1, 3 sc in same stitch. *1 sc in each stitch, 3 sc in corner around *Repeat, finish off.

TRIM:
Switch colors, attach to center stitch in any corner, ch 1 sc in same stitch, ch 1, skip 1 st, 1 sc in next st, * ch 1, skip next stitch, sc in next st. *Repeat around, finish off

These cross'es pattern were designed to use in Prayer Cloths, but it has come to mind that they are EQUALLY BEAUTIFUL in Prayer Shawls, so I've listed them here for you to use in the prayer shawl of your choice.;
Materials:

6.)(and all remaining even numbered rows) knit across

7-10) repeat rows 5 and 6

11 - 33) k4, p13, k3, p13, k4

35 - 39) k4, p8, k13, p8, k4

41 - 45) k4, p13, k3, p13, k4

47) k4, p29, k4

48) Knit across

49 - 50) rep rows 47 and 48

51 - 54) knit across

A reverse Cross is for using in Shawls or Scarfs when you desire a Cross on both ends.

A reverse Cross is worked from the top down instead of the bottom up as usual.

Use same size needles original project is being made from.

Cast on 37 stitches.

Row 1-4) Knit across

Row 5) Knit across

Row 6) k4, p29, k4
Row 7) repeat row 5

** NOTE: Knit all (ODD number rows).

Row's 8-13) k4, p13, k3, p13, k4
Row's 14-19) k4, p8, k13, p8, k4

Row's 20-41) k4, p13, k3, p13, k4

Row 42) k 4, p29, k4

Row 43) Knit Across

Row's 44-47) Knit across
