Eureka Springs (Arkansas) was founded because of the popularity of its healing waters, which had been held sacred for many years by the Native Americans. With the growth of the town, the springs were covered, enclosed, forced through pipes, and polluted. In recent times, the townspeople have been doing a lot to bring back the health and beauty of the springs. Now there are lovely gardens and walkways. Groups of well-wishers visit, bringing crystals and chants to call back the power. My paintings in this series have the intention of revitalizing the waters. I mix sacred water from Lourdes into the paint to carry a high vibration onward to the viewer and back to the water.
