Cross Prayer Cloth (Crochet)

                                               Crochet Prayer Cloth
What better way to honor our Lord then to create a Prayer cloth with His love & Prayers to remind us always of the ultimate Love He gave for us.

I’ve created this Prayer cloth with the Cross filled with X’s & O’s {Universal sign for Hugs & Kisses} and am pleased to share this with you.


Prayer Cloths are Scriptural, {Acts 19:12} “Some people took handkerchiefs and clothes that Paul had used and put them on the sick. When they did this, the sick were healed and evil spirits left them.” (NCV) {I like the NIV & KJV as well}


SPECIAL STITCH: X ‘s & O’s Stitch:
ch 1, skip 2 sts, 1 dc in next, then work 1 dc “BEHIND” dc you just worked and into the front of prev. st, ch 1, skip next dc


H hook

Row 1: Ch 28, 1 sc in second ch from hook, & in remaining ch’s., ch 2 and turn

Row 2: {ch 2 counts as dc} 1 dc in each st across, ch 1 turn

Row 3: 1 sc in each st across *{& ch 1 space where applies} , ch 2 turn

Row 4: 1 dc in 12 sts, ch 1, skip 2 sts, 1 dc in next, then work 1 dc “BEHIND” dc you just worked, ch 1, skip next dc, dc in next 12 sts, ch 1 & turn {12 dc, skip 1, X st made, skip 1, 12 dc}

Rows 5-12: Repeat Rows 3 & 4 - 4 more times

Row 13: dc in next 6 sts, ch 1, skip 2 sts, 1 dc in next, then work 1 dc “BEHIND” dc you just worked, ch 1, skip next dc (total of 5 times) , dc in next 6 sts, ch 1 turn.

Row 14 – 16 – 18 : Repeat row 3

Row’s 15 -17: Repeat row 4

Row 19: Repeat row 2

Row 20: Repeat Row 3
TRIM:
Trim of your choice, I use several different trim on my Prayer Cloths, BUT this one in the photo is my “1,2,3 Trim”


{“1,2,3 Trim”}
1 sc around cloth except in corners, work 3 sc in each corner, join, sl t into center sc of corner, {1 sc, ch 2, 3 dc in this st} *sk 2 sts, {1 sc, ch 2, 3 dc in next st} *Repeat Around. Join & Finish Off, tuck in tail
